It’s a nice visual, isn’t it? To us, Sipping Coconuts is what our life should be. By the beach, taking in the beauty of the infinite clear blue skies, listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the sand and sipping sweet, delicious coconuts. Endlessly.

Welcome to Sipping Coconuts, our journey from where we are to where we want to be. An adventure about 2 adults working in the corporate world with 2 kids (maybe more later, let me forget my current exploits carrying Baby #2!) who will be selling their worldly possessions to travel the world, spend time with their family and not having to work anymore unless they want to.

This is a journey of our lifestyle, inspired by the Financial Independence and Retire Early (FIRE) movement. While this is certainly not a spur of the moment decision, there remains a lot of uncertainties in the future still. There have been lots of conversations and some solid numbers (hey, we are Chartered Accountants after all!) in fancy Excel sheets behind what we set out to do. Explore with us our thoughts around retirement, how we are preparing for it, all aspects of the finances and our lifestyle changes along with what we intend to do as it develops!

Life is truly what we make of it, join us as we carve our path and hopefully you are inspired to blaze your own trail! It’s as easy as…sipping coconuts!

If you are new to our blog, a good place to start is the About Us page followed by Our Grand Plan.
