This trip has totally crept up on us as we have been busy with the 10km run last week, the baby shower for my bestie, all decisions regarding The Great Adventure and then of course the kids and life in general.

We leave in 4 days! I feel like we just booked it! We have yet to pack. We have yet to get our Travel Insurance sorted out as trekking to the altitude we are is not covered by very many insurances. I feel somewhat under-prepared, actually. We have yet to finalise our last will even. All very important pre-trip activities but on the bright-side, we still have 4 days to get this sorted 🙂

The other part that I am pleased about is that we have been physically preparing for this trip. Stair-work every 2-3 days, trekking Bukit Timah once a week, preparing and completing the 10km run will hopefully serve us well!

The week leading up to the trip on Sunday has proven to be somewhat challenging. I’m feeling worried about the length of time we will be away from the boys and how they will cope and how the caregivers will cope! Some guilt is also creeping in on abandoning young children for 11 days. At the same time, we’re short on sleep from staying away to perform a host of activities across various areas in life.

Amidst the chaos of life, it dawned on me today as I was driving back from work how I’m truly looking forward to the 11 days away. I want to be surrounded by the greatness of nature and have my active mind numbed by the physical exhaustion and the majestic views. Daily, I find it hard to think of much other than everything that I have to do and organize. I find it hard to stop thinking in fact. I need to forget my 10 “Taaa-Daaaa Lists’ (that is my version of a To-Do).

Perhaps 8 days of continuous trekking is exactly what I need. I need a few days for my lists to dissipate. I just want to experiencing truly just being.

Our trip to Nepal is fast approaching and I think this will be one of the most amazing trips ever.
