What the mind believes, the body achieves. True-er words have never been said.
This morning, I switched my running app from Runkeeper to MapMyFitness.
I’m often guilty of stopping my workout before I reach the point of absolute failure. I’m aware of it. This app, makes you ‘press and hold’ the on-screen button to really end the workout, versus a simple ‘press to end’ option.
I think it’s by design to prompt your mind to question yourself, “Am I truly done?” (Of course it could also be serving other purposes such as not accidentally ending a workout).
I ended up running an addition 0.5km, not anything jaw-dropping but to the very point that I totally threw the towel in when I could push myself further. When your mind makes you do something, your body will comply.
Ask yourself next time you think you are done, “Am I Really Done?
