I’ve been putting off writing about this topic as it gets me quite nervous! Looking at the calendar makes me heart beat faster, we are a mere 80 days away from embarking on our adventure of a lifetime!

Around the World in 80 Days? 🙂

So SC, What Are You Guys Actually Going to Do?

A couple of long lines there!

Glad you asked! As we have mentioned, we are flying in to Lisbon, Portugal (Related: We’ve Done It Again & Giving Retirement a Trial Run) and spending two weeks between Lisbon and Porto. We have our AirBnB booked and we are excited for some port wine and exotic seafood like gooseneck barnacles (OK, this is more Mr.C than for me. I can’t even bring myself to put a picture here but I put a link to a picture – hopefully it’s yummier than it looks)! From Porto, we are headed to Barcelona for the La Mercè Festival. Yes, we planned our time specifically for the festival. The accommodation in Barcelona is expensive at this time of the year so we have booked a room for 4 nights to save on our accommodation cost. The place looks great and it is quite near the beach so if all goes south, we’ll just sleep on the beach? Am kidding, am sure we will tire the kids out sufficiently to ensure they sleep well at night.

We had initial plans of moving south after Barcelona and call the stretch between Valencia and Gibraltar home for the next 3-5 weeks. Cue in the brother from New York who will be in Russia during the same time with his Russian family. Hmm, time with family and some local orientation? Sounds like an opportunity too good to pass up on! So after Barcelona, we’re headed to Saint Petersburg, Russia! What is a trip in Russia without prancing by Moscow? So Moscow might be on the cards before we head back to Spain to continue with the original plan. Maybe. The joys of being flexible and planning on the go. Does it give us the best value for money? Probably not. Does it give us the ability to go where our heart and sense of adventure desires? Absolutely!

What About Everything in Singapore?

Bye-bye!

No, Really…

Ok, here’s where we stand right now.

  1. Our condo is up for sale / rent. Let us know if any of you want to move to a gorgeous green place. There’s the SippingCoconuts family and friends discount.
  2. We’ve informed our helper and we are on the look-out to have her transferred, regretfully. We will give her a sign-on bonus on our return! 🙂
  3. We will be selling CocoCar – Yep, goodbye darling car. It’s been a helluva’ short lived love affair and you’ve given us more than we imagined. (Related: The Wonderful Cost of Car Ownership in Singapore & Side Hustle Update: Grab Hitchin’
  4. We have informed our respective offices. Yes, both of us! Mr.C has submitted his resignation letter with a mixed bag of emotions. There was some excitement, some hesitation, some second-guessing if this is the right thing to do and some sadness to leave a role that has been kind to him.

That sounds like we have most of our affairs wrapped up!

IC: Lotus Blue

Ideally we would have our condo sold so we could write a post that we literally sold all our stuff and travelled the world with all our belongings in a bag but alas, the condo isn’t moving off the market just yet 🙂

Help us with our travels! Tell us the most amazing place you have been to in the comments section so we can experience it as well!
